Introducing Mike!

Unlike many that seem to fall into the financial services industry, Mike’s entry was an active decision. After starting his career as a Statistician he quickly realised he missed dealing with people and was given an opportunity by an experienced adviser who went on to become his mentor. Years later, Mike remains in touch with, and immensely grateful to, the individual who gave him his head start.

Of course, technical knowledge is important, but as a Chartered Financial Planner it’s largely a given. Mike prioritises taking the time to listen to each client and understand what they’re really saying, what they want to achieve and what may be worrying them.

He enjoys the fact that no two days are the same, and, although he acknowledges the saying is a cliché, it’s completely true. Every client has their own unique circumstances, aims and objectives, and he prides himself on sharing his knowledge in ways that will best support them. As he says “I take my responsibility as a trusted adviser seriously. I treat every client as an individual and ensure my advice is with their best interests at heart”.

Away from work, Mike and his wife are busy raising their two daughters, who are both reaching important stages in their education. He’s also a keen and accomplished runner, having completed the London Marathon, Great North Run and Great Birmingham Run. When he’s not running, he enjoys live music and following Birmingham City as a season ticket holder.

Mike has already become a valued addition to the team, and we’re incredibly excited to see him grow into the role. We’re sure many of you will be seeing much more of him as he continues to settle into life at Colmore Partners.
